Back to the News Summaries
On Sunday, March 14, the Pagosah  Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will have a special service exploring the interplay of music and movement to invoke the sacred in our lives. Dr. Pam Kircher and Paul Roberts will explore cultural traditions from around the world with practitioners of Tai Chi, Yoga, Belly Dance, and Folk Dancing.

Paul Roberts, a practitioner of music therapy and master of ancient instruments, will play an assortment of these instruments in accompaniment to ancient temple dances, yoga, tai chi, and ecstatic dance.  Lisa Foreman will introduce us to several ancient temple dances and close the service with a dance of "ecstatic joy."

Margaret Burkesmith, who teaches several different forms of yoga, will emphasize this morning how yoga leads to deeper experiences of the sacred in our lives.  Service leader Pam Kircher, who is a Master Trainer in several forms of tai chi for health, will demonstrate the art of tai chi and lead the group in a brief experience of qigong.

Recently, the Children’s Religious Exploration has been exploring the Seven Principles of the Unitarian Universalist Association, and is now considering  number six : "The goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all."  The legend of the peace doves will encourage us to make quilt squares to be made into a peace quilt.

The service begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall, Unit B-15, Greenbriar Plaza. Turn east on Greenbriar Drive off of North Pagosa Boulevard by the Fire Station, then left into the back parking lot and look for the big sign.  All are welcome.
